Dr. Rosseel graduated from the Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He was an associate veterinarian at a large referral practice for several years, after which he started a house call practice here in Western Massachusetts. He purchased the Amherst Veterinary Clinic in 1995.
Outside of practice Dr. Rosseel enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing, vegetable gardening and fly fishing.
Dawn has been with the Amherst Veterinary Clinic since 1996 and is now our practice manager.
Working with animals has always been a passion for Dawn. “My parents remind me that I didn’t want presents or a birthday party when I turned 13. That was the age you needed to be to join the Danbury Animal Welfare Society so I asked only to be dropped off at the dog pound to volunteer.”
Since that day she has continued in the field, gaining extensive knowledge in animal care and behavior.
She lives with her husband of 33 years, a German Shepherd, a rescued Chihuahua, a cat and 5 chickens. She is an avid hiker and gardener and enjoys bikram yoga and kayaking when she is not out visiting with her registered therapy dog, Winston.
Jennifer began working at the Amherst Veterinary Clinic in January 1999 as a Veterinary Technician and the office manager. For nearly 8 years she worked full time enjoying the ability to build meaningful relationships with her co-workers, clients and pets as well. In 2005, with the birth of her first son, she took a short leave of absence.
Jennifer returned to the clinic part time until the birth of her second son in 2007. She has been thrilled to continue in a part time role with the Amherst Veterinary Clinic since the births of her boys. She currently lives in Chicopee with her husband, two boys and tripod dog. She enjoys raising her boys, photography, knitting and reading.
Justen is a veterinary technician who started working at the Amherst Veterinary Clinic in 2007 and has been in the animal care field since 2002. His primary responsibilities include assisting with surgery, performing dental cleanings, radiography, and obtaining lab samples.
Justen is also a nationally registered paramedic working full time in a local urban 911 system, and attends the University of Massachusetts at Amherst full time working towards an undergraduate degree in biology with the goal of pursuing further medical education. Justen grew up with several German Shepherds, chickens, ducks, and a goat. He currently shares living accommodations with five cats and a very small Chihuahua.
Angela joined the Amherst Veterinary Clinic as a technician in 2010, and is a resident of Belchertown, MA. She graduated from UMass in 2002, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in animal science, majoring in pre-veterinary medicine. She enjoys working with a variety of animals, and has experience with small, large and exotics. Angela has been called a “cat-whisperer”, and shares her life with her cats named Luna, Annabel, Raven and Smeagol. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, playing the piano,spending time outdoors and with family.
Kim has worked at Amherst Veterinary Clinic since June 2013. Kim has worked in the animal care field since 1993 with over 24 years experience as a veterinary technician and as a pet groomer since she graduated from grooming school in 2007. Kim has also worked with many pet rescue groups while living in Massachusetts and South Carolina. Kim lives with her Chihuahua, a French bulldog. Outside of work Kim enjoys reading, music and spending time with her friends and family and her pets.
